A collection of some of my work in the animation industry.
Heavy Gear – Mainframe Entertainment Inc (Vancouver BC)
I re-modeled this set to work in this scene (the bridge was too short). After animating (keyframe) the characters, props and rockets, I then had to fix and time the special effect gunfire and explosions as well as animate the smoke and dust trails. I purposely made the bridge sag under Marcus’s weight as he ran across it – anything that dilapidated couldn’t be solid! I then had to light all the elements in each scene of this sequence then break it down into several layers to be rendered then composited back together by me.
Stuart Little 3 – Mainframe Entertainment Inc (Vancouver BC)
I laid out, did some modeling fixes on the cave, and keyframe animated the characters and props in these 2 sequences. I had to animate 4 versions of the bag that Stuart gives Reeko (it started off as a sock). I created Stuart’s run cycle used in the cave scene. Lighting and rendering is done by other departments.
Spider Man – Mainframe Entertainment Inc (Vancouver BC)
After laying out the characters and props in this sequence I then keyframe animated most of this sequence with the exception of 3 shots that used motion capture (where Boris confronts Peter and gets bonked). The scenes were then lit, layered, rendered and composited by me.
Animal Mechanicals – DHX Media (Halifax NS)
I laid out and keyframe animated the characters and props in this sequence. I based Rex’s movements on heavy construction machinery I used to work around.
ReBoot – Mainframe Entertainment Inc (Vancouver BC)
I built this set, the background characters (based on the movie “Waterworld”) and episode character Hardboot who appears at right of Jeff (named after a co-worker). All characters a keyframe animated, then lit, layered, rendered and composited by me.
